The Importance of Proof Reading

Have you noticed how mis-spelling seems to have become more prevalent, not only in emails, but where it really matters in important documents, magazines, newsletters, websites and more.

Imagine having invested a lot of money on signs, prospectuses, promotional material, websites, etc only to find that they have spelling errors? Wouldn't it be particularly bad if you're in the education sector?

Late last year I saw a photograph in the Telegraph newspaper in the UK, of a street sign at Cambridge University: "Entrance to Collage Car Park Only". This error was the work of contractors employed by Anglian Water during their month long closure while they repaired a broken pipe.

Recently, I read in The Times, how the UK School's Minister Jim Knight, has admitted he must do better after his blog discusses national issues and those affecting his constituency, Dorset South was filled with spelling mistakes. If you'd like to read further go to: Times Online
To avoid this embarrassment, always have someone else check your work, preferably an experienced proofreader. A fresh pair of eyes makes all the difference.
