This documentary opens a window on the harsh realities of life for Australia’s early settlers and depicts the journey of The First Fleet and the hardships they endured. The 40 minute program was filmed at the Old Sydney Town at Somersby, NSW shortly after it’s closure.
Written by Vince Wren, it tells of a time when convicts built the foundations of a nation, redcoats ruled with an iron fi st and all tried to come to grips with life on the other side of the world. Documentary maker, Mark Eder, said the documentary really does bring history to the people. “It tells of the different stages of development the colony went through and all the growing pains it had to endure.”
